
Why we build our bathroom heaters in pieces
Let’s be honest: bathrooms are a nightmare for electronics. Between the steam from your morning shower and the harsh chemicals you use to scrub the tiles, heating elements just take a beating. Eventually, things wear out. That’s just physics. The problem is how most companies handle it. Usually, wall heaters are built as one solid, sealed block. When a single heating tube burns out after a few years, the whole thing becomes a giant piece of scrap metal. You have to rip the entire fixture off the wall and buy a brand new one. It’s frustrating, and it’s a waste of money. We decided to do things differently. We broke the heater down into a modular system. The chassis, the reflector, and the heating element are all separate parts. If a tube dies, you don’t need a toolkit or a stressful afternoon of renovations. You just pop off the faceplate, unplug the old tube, and slide in a new one. It takes minutes. You’re back to a warm bathroom before you’ve even finished your coffee. Now, building things this way does come with a challenge. More parts mean more connection points, and in a damp bathroom, those joints can rust or lose power. To fix that, we didn’t cut corners. We used gold-plated and nickel-coated contacts. It stops the oxidation and keeps the power flowing steady, even when the room is thick with steam. It really comes down to the long game. Why throw away a 50kg fixture every five years when you can just swap out a 200g quartz tube? It’s better for your wallet and way better for the planet. You install the frame once, and then you just refresh the tubes as they age. That’s how you actually make something last a decade in a place as brutal as a bathroom.
